Sydney icons, and 3 more chances to win

sydney harbour bridge and opera houseWhat’s the first thing most people see in their minds when they hear the word, Sydney? Yes, the Opera House. Right next to it, mentally and literally, is the Sydney Harbor (I mean Harbour) Bridge.

Yesterday, Kate and I took a ferry from Darling Harbour around to Circular Quay, sailing under the bridge and past the Opera House.

I was glad I had an extra camera battery along! Now I need your help. And in the process, you’ll have your name entered again, up to 3 more times.

Here’s what to do:

  • Comment at this post to tell me your one favorite of my Opera House Photos. Make clear which album you’re referring to, for example “#__ – Opera House.
  • Comment at this post to tell me your one favorite of my Bridge Photos. Make clear which album you’re referring to, for example “#__ – Bridge.
  • Comment at this post to tell me your one favorite of my Opera House with Bridge Photos. Make clear which album you’re referring to, for example “#__ – Opera House and Bridge.
  • Comment once for each choice, at total of 3 times.

That enters your name a total of three more times in the drawing for one of the mystery gifts from Down Under. I’ve been collecting some pretty special items with you in mind.

__________

Make sure your name is entered additional times for the Mystery Prize(s) from Down Under. Previous opportunities–#1 and #2 and #3.

  2. angie says:

Need to clarify: I like #8 of the Opera House only, and I like #1 of the Bridge and the Opera House…like the way the bridge frames the opera house

  3. Lou Ann says:

    #4 Opera House
    #3 Bridge
Bridge and Opera House was the most difficult to choose, but I will say #2
They are all beautiful. appreciated the blue skies you captured.

  4. Pamela Nees says:

I love number 3-Opera House-mainly because of the cool clouds in the background. (The Heavens are telling-don’t cha know?)

Also number 8 is amazing due to the contrast you’ve got going there-extremely blue sky and what we don’t often see-the brightness of the back of the Opera House buildings. Very cool.

  5. Pamela Nees says:

OK-the Sydney Harbor Bridge photos are all good, but I vote for number 4…the sun gleaming on the water is amazing! And love that sailboat in the foreground. Nice!

I know what you mean about the extra camera battery. (Heck, I can go to a picnic with my grandchildren and end up shooting 80 photos in a couple hours! -Lots of deleting and editing when I get them onto the computer! ha!)

  6. Pamela Nees says:

Man, Noel, these Opera House with Bridge ones are all good! You are one good photographer!

  35. Amanda says:

#4 of the Bridge photos is really nice too, especially with the sailboat leading into the photo from the right. It really draws your eye in!

  36. Amanda says:

#3 is my favorite for the bridge and opera house photos. It’s cool that it focuses on the bridge and then you notice this iconic building in the background. Great angles too!

  37. Debi says:

I like Opera House #8, because it is a view that is not a common as others I have seen of it. It reminds me of wings :)

  40. Laur says:

Opera House Sydney 6: At first I thought my pick would be the one with a clear blue (cloudless) sky, but when I viewed the photos enlarged, this one is my clear choice. Great pics, Noel! :)

  41. Laur says:

Tough choice: I can’t pick between Sydney Harbor Bridge 2 and Sydney Harbor Bridge 3. So different from one another, both terrific pics!

Sydney Harbor Bridge, Opera House 2 is my favorite! :)
May God richly bless your time in Australia, Noel!

  43. Roberta says:

    #6-Opera House
I was going to say #3 for the angle of the Opera House and clouds in the gorgeous blue sky, but I love how #6 captures all that plus the moment of the water. Very beautiful!

  44. Roberta says:

    #4-Bridge
Again I just love the water. The movement and reflection of light, it’s so calming.

  45. Roberta says:

    #3-Bridge and Opera House
I love the bridge against the sky and angle of the picture.

  46. Cynthia B says:

#7 Opera House…because it shows the larger context of that building, the city behind it, and most of all the beautiful cloud mass and sky above as if to say man can build amazing structures, but God is over all :)

  47. Cynthia B says:

#3 Bridge photo because the orientation of the sailboat seeming to be headed under the bridge and beyond…like follow me on my journey.

  48. Cynthia B says:

#5 Opera House and Bridge because it shows the context of the structures together; the arcs of the Opera house roof repeat those of the bridge and I like the composition. We can see that the boat is going away from the scene and it’s a little like being there with you for a split second :)

  49. Mel says:

I love Opera House #8 the best because it shows the structure so beautifully. Thank you for sharing!

  50. Amy says:

Opera house number 6 and 7 were our favorites. This was a great learning opportunity for my boys. We haven’t really talked much about operas or designing buildings for accoustics. To them the building looked a lot like stacked rowboats or sails. I love how God is so creative and allows it to flow so differently from each of us.

  51. Mel says:

I love #2-Sydnie Harbor Bridge. Again, you captured the structure so beautifully. It looks magnificent.

  52. Amy says:

Isn’t it incredible to think of the strength of that bridge? Yet nothing compared to God. Sydney Harbor Bridge picture number 3 is our favorite; however, the colors in number 4 are amazing, too.

  53. Mel says:

Really enjoy Bridge and Opera House #2. It shows the grand structure of the bridge and the full opera house. Truly God gave men the talent to build such structures!
