For the very young traveler you love

When our grandtwins were younger, I discovered what I thought would be a solution for naptime sleeping places when they’re visiting.

A year later, I’m here to tell you the solution is very good for sleeping, and it turns out the Kidco Peapod sleep tents are good for playtime laughs as well–peek-a-boo, wrestling, tumbling, hiding toys . . . .

Now turn your mind to traveling. Think of the advantages of the Peapod over that portable crib that used to be the most convenient thing around. Think of carrying a 4-pound (or whatever really light weight it is), 16-inch (or whatever exact diameter it is) circle instead of the 20-pound (or whatever heavy weight it is) cumbersome folded-up crib.

On the beach, your Peapod will be sun protection for the baby, and ready right away for naptime back at your lodgings, no problem, after you quickly dust off the sand.

In the car trunk, the Peapod can just slide into some bit of unused space. For flying, it will fit into your suitcase.

QUESTION FOR YOU: Do you have a Peapod? If so, how do you use it?

If you’re not quite persuaded about the Kidco Peapod, check out these travel-related comments from the earlier post:

The peapod is amazing! My 2 1/2 year old will still sleep in his on vacation. Like you said, way better than schlepping a pack-n-play around.

i have one… we’ve traveled the country with it (saves LOTS of packing room) and use it at friend’s houses. it’s awesome.

My husband and I live in Brooklyn and traveling on the subway with a pack-n-play can be difficult. We just bought my 8 month a peapod tent for Christmas and she loves it!

We got a peapod because my husband does a fair amount of traveling for his job and we often go along. It’s so much easier to pack this convenient little tent rather than a pack ‘n play! I’ve also found that it’s great to take to the beach so that little ones can stay contained and play and sleep out of the sun’s direct rays.

I don’t have a peapod, but after lugging our packnplay overseas for the past five years I am wishing I did!! I bet a peapod would even be a handy tool to bring along for kids to play in during a meeting somewhere.

Thanks for the very timely reminder! I remember your original post, and intended to get one then (and didn’t), but #4 is due to arrive, Lord willing, in about 2 weeks :)

We have a peapod and absolutely LOVE it! My son has slept in it on three continents, in 13 states, in bathrooms, in closets, in board rooms, in airports, in hotels, and any other nook or cranny we could find. It is a brilliant baby item! It is a must-have for anyone who travels with a baby.

We live overseas and have traveled with both a pack and play and a peapod. The pack and play is a bother, the peapod is wonderful! I will say that my kids get really sweaty in the peapod if it is a little warm. When our daughter hit two and could understand not to get out of the tent, we’d leave it completely unzipped. I love it for traveling.
